Coe College - Center for Community Engagement

Office of Community Engagement

The Office of Community Engagement at Coe connects the College and Cedar Rapids community to support students’ development as active and educated citizens and to promote positive, community-driven social change.  Our vision is that  students will prioritize working within and understanding community in a lifelong pursuit of social justice.

How to Get Involved

We offer several ways for students to connect to community.  First, like our Facebook page, follow us on Twitter (@CoeCares), and keep your eye out for our Email Newsletter for information about various community volunteer opportunities. Then explore – get involved in a student group that focuses on service, consider an Off-Campus Federal Work Study position (when eligible) or if you’re really feeling bold, check out our Iowa College AmeriCorps Program! (ICAP)

We can also help you to set up your own community engagement opportunities. Visit our Community Partner Directory to learn about organizations in the Cedar Rapids Area.

If you work with a non-profit or public organization, or are a faculty member at Coe and would like to develop projects with us, we’d love to join you in building knowledge and creating community.

Whether you are a student, faculty member, staff member or community member, we are glad to partner with you.
