Coe College - Center for Community Engagement

Advocates for Community Engagement (ACEs)

Are you looking for ways to get involved off campus this semester?

Do you want to get more engaged in the community?
The Advocates for Community Engagement (ACEs)
are here to help! Each ACE has a focus area that they have become experts in, so stop in, say hi, and find out ways you can be involved!
Below are descriptions of what each ACE can help you with. They will host walk-in hours in Office 126 in the Learning Commons (nearest the coffee shop). If their office hours don’t work for you, email [email protected] to set an appointment.

Immigrants & Refugees
Students should visit me if they have any interest in volunteering at the Catherine McAuley Center or anywhere else that supports immigrants & refugees! I will be focusing there as I have a strong tie with and a love for the Catherine McAuley Center (which is just a few blocks away from Coe!).

Hayley Walton
Economic Stability, Immigrants & Refugees
Are you interested in volunteering? Are you interested in working with immigrants/refugees in the Cedar Rapids area? Do you like to help people? If you answered any of those questions as “yes,” then you should contact me! I will be acting as a liaison between Coe students and non-profits in the area who assist immigrants/refugees, such as Catherine McAuley Center and Catholic Charities.
